Bretta Lewis Joins Pender & Coward and Expands Family Law Practice
Virginia Beach, Va. – Pender & Coward is pleased to announce that Bretta Lewis has joined the firm as a shareholder focusing her practice on family law matters, including divorce and equitable distribution cases, premarital agreements, and child custody matters. Bretta will lead the firm’s existing family law team.
A native of Virginia Beach, Bretta has practiced family law in Hampton Roads for over 23 years. She has served the legal profession in leadership positions in the Virginia State Bar and the Virginia Beach Bar Association. She is a former adjunct professor at William & Mary Law School, has been a frequent lecturer and faculty member for multiple bar and professional organizations and often teaches seminars focused on advanced family law matters as well as professionalism and ethics. In the community, Bretta serves as legal counsel and advisory board member of Team Hoyt Virginia Beach, and the executive board of the Virginia Beach Surf and Rescue Museum.
Bretta received her Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School, a Master of Arts from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Virginia.
